Nuclear and Chemical Reaction:
The following are the main points of difference between nuclear and chemical Reaction-
| Nuclear Reaction | Chemical Reaction |
|---|---|
| The nuclei of the atoms are involved. | The electrons of the only outermost shell of atoms are involved. |
| No breaking or making of bonds is involved. | Some bonds are broken and some new bonds are formed. |
| A very large amount of energy is released. | Energy is either absorbed or evolved. |
| Such reactions are generally irreversible. | They can be reversible as well as irreversible. |
| The rate of reaction is not affected by temperature, pressure etc. | Their rates of reaction are affected by temperature and pressure conditions. |
