Paragraph Writing:

Union is Strength:

It is an established fact that union is strength. We can stand only so long as we are united. The moment we are divided, we shall fall. Any disunity in the team will surely bring it to defeat. Unity within a country makes it a big power. Joint efforts are sure to win as compared to the effort of a single person. The family will prosper if all the members work in association. Any friction will bring ruin to them. Even the ants and bees work in team spirit. They carry away things far heavier than their weight. It is a fact of history that India was attacked whenever she was divided.

Where there is a will, there is a way:

No obstacle, no barrier can ever stand in the way of a strong and stout will. A strong will finds a way out. It overcomes mountains and leads a man to success. The body may yield but the strong will never yield. The victories of the weak-bodied Napoleon were the outcome of his strong will. He had faith that nothing was impossible for a man of strong will.

God Helps Those Who Help Themselves:

Diligent people are well off but indolent people are badly off. The efforts of the former repay them too much while the latter face poverty and want. Pin faith in the saying that self-help is the best help. Unless you put your shoulders to the wheels, they cannot be taken out of the mud where they are stuck. God Indra can help with rain but he shall not grow your crops. You yourself have to sow it with hard labor spreading over a pretty long time.

Honest is the Best Policy:

Honesty is a virtue. It always pays honest people though it may take some time. The honest wood-cutter who did not own the golden and silver axes got them as a reward for his honesty. Honesty survives the grave. Even the generations to come to talk and praise the deeds of honest people. Honest Raja Harish Chandra was paid in the end for his honesty. Let all people be honest and make this world a second paradise.

Might is Right:

Survival of the fittest is the law of nature and the weak go to the wall. Be strong or others shall make you slave and exploit your labor for their own benefits. History of the past bears out that they were the mighty and powerful persons who laid the foundation of vast empires by subduing others. A weak person has no say anywhere. He is denied all civil rights.

Make Hay While the Sun Shines:

It is a European proverb. In Europe, the sun shines rarely. Naturally, the farmers must act in time to dry the grass when the sun shines. In other words, it means that an opportunity must not be lost. We should avail ourselves of it to the full. We must or may not get the opportunity again. The blacksmith just “strikes the iron when it is hot.” Once it becomes cold, a lot of labor will be required to heat it again. The opportunity once lost is lost forever. The person who puts off till tomorrow will never see the tomorrow. Negligence to act at the proper time will cost a lot. One who cannot avail of the opportunity can never succeed in life.

Look Before You Leap:

It means one should act only after careful thought. Haste often makes waste. Life is not a bed of roses. We face various odds in life. So, we should weigh the pros and cons before taking action. We should not be rash and thoughtless. We should not leap into the dark. It does not, however, mean that we should not act. Action means life. What is required is that proper thought must be given before taking any step.

Prevention is Better than Cure:

It is an accepted fact that prevention is better than cure. It means we should prevent undesirable things from taking place rather than act when it has happened. It means we should take timely action against any harmful things. We should not be careless. We should not sleep over our ills. We should take timely action. We should nip the evil in the bud. We should look after the needs of the body properly. We should ensure proper care rather than fall ill. That will result in a waste of money and disappointment. Health once spoiled does not cure easily. Similarly, we should act in other spheres of life also. We should think of the pros and cons of action before giving it final shape. That is the golden rule in life.
